Introduction to the OIST Internship 2025

The OIST Internship 2025 in Japan (Fully Funded) is now accepting applications from interested interns. Applications are open to apply for the OIST Fall 2025 Internship. OIST stands for the Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology. The OIST Internship 2025 is a highly esteemed and fully funded program that is open to international students from any country. The internship will provide a six-month immersive experience for participants.

This program is designed for students who are pursuing a Bachelors, Masters, or PhD degree, as well as recent graduates who are looking to gain practical experience in their field of study. The internship will offer a range of opportunities for participants to learn and grow, including access to state-of-the-art research facilities, participation in innovative research projects, and exposure to a diverse and supportive community of scholars. Whether you are seeking to enhance your academic credentials or gain hands-on experience in your field, this internship is an excellent opportunity to take your career to the next level.

An applicant does not need to take or provide IELTS or TOEFL results. The internship lasts between 2 and 6 months, normally 10 to 12 weeks. Your airfare, accommodation, stipend, meals, and visa support will be covered by the Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology (OIST). Interns will work under the direction of a professor and contribute to the research activities of OIST. This is a call for the fall 2025 internship. Available Internship Fields

The OIST Research Intern program is available in STEM fields.

  • Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Neuroscience, Mathematics, Computational Science, Environmental, Ecological, and Marine Sciences, Science, Engineering, and Medical.

Eligibility Criteria

You must be able to fulfill these requirements set by the OIST Graduate School.

  • Students can be from any country. There is no nationality restriction.
  • No need for any IELTS or TOEFL Test.
  • Applicants who are enrolled in a graduate degree program can apply.
  • Applicants who are enrolled in an undergraduate degree program can also apply.
  • Applicants who have recently graduated can also apply.
  • Bachelor’s 3rd and 4th year students and Master’s 1st year and 2nd year students are particularly encouraged to apply.
