Applications are now being accepted for the University Corridors for Refugees Programme, known as UNICORE 2024.
This initiative provides refugee students with the chance to pursue a master’s degree at an Italian university. Sponsored by Italian universities, in collaboration with UNHCR, the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Caritas Italiana, Diaconia Valdese, Centro Astalli, and other partners, the UNICORE 6.0 project seeks to broaden educational opportunities for refugees currently residing in Kenya, Mozambique, Niger, Nigeria, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, and Zimbabwe. By facilitating access to higher education in Italy, the programme aims to empower refugees and enable them to contribute meaningfully to their communities and beyond.

Admission requirementsApplication is open exclusively to candidates who:
Reside in Kenya, Mozambique, Niger, Nigeria, South Africa, Uganda, Tanzania, Zambia, or Zimbabwe and have been granted refugee status in collaboration with UNHCR.
Additionally, meet the following criteria:
Possess a qualification valid for admission to the chosen Second Cycle Degree Programme.- Maintain a Grade Point Average (GPA) of at least 3.0, based on the tertiary education grading system of your country of graduation or its equivalent according to the comparable table issued by the Italian Ministry of Education.
– Hold a degree earned in or after 2019 and no later than the call deadline. Note that some universities may not impose a time limit for graduation; refer to individual call for applications.- Fulfill the specific admission requirements of the Second Cycle Degree Programme.- Have never previously been enrolled in a degree program at any of the Partner Universities
