About the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Academy Fellowship 2024/2025 

As an active citizen of the world, young people have the power to catalyze positive social change and guide society along a path of sustainable progress.

Many Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF) grants focus on empowering young people of all interests and backgrounds and amplifying their voices. The Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF) Fellowship invites young people to apply for a ten-month internship in Athens twice per year, from April to July and from October to September.

Review Process

The review process is carried out in three stages. The first stage involves the evaluation of applicants’ CVs and application responses to establish so as to shortlist qualified candidates. 

The second stage involves virtual interviews with these candidates, conducted by small panels of SNF staff based on which position the applicant is interested in. The third stage involves selecting participants for the program.

Applications are evaluated on criteria including interest shown by the applicant, the relevance of their application to the position and the potential fit shown with the culture of the organization, as well as the impact the internship could have for their professional and personal life.

The review process, like all of Stavros Niarchos Foundation Academy Fellowship work, is guided by a goal of enhancing the opportunities available to all.

Who Can Apply?

The application process for the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Academy Fellowship 2024/2025 is based on the following criteria,

  • Citizenship: The program is open to citizens of Greece, applications will also be accepted from applicants holding dual nationality which includes Greece.
  • Education: Applicants must hold a completed BA degree or equivalent and have experience with conducting research.
  • Career: The candidate should be at the early stage of their career.
  •  fields or work: academia, NGO, business, government departments, civil society or the media. 
  • Knowledge: All candidates should possess knowledge of international affairs, their chosen area of research, and Chatham House’s mission and research.
  • Age restrictions: no age restriction is imposed for applicants

Important Points To Note

  • Application portals are open from 11am on 17 April to 11am BST on 15 May 2024.
  • Academy Fellows will spend ten months at Chatham House between October 2024 and July 2025.
  • The fellow will live full-time at Chatham House, London with possible hybrid work type.
  • Candidates may be required to pay for medicines prescribed by a doctor, fieldwork and travel, research activities and possible publication.

Benefits Of Stavros Niarchos Foundation Academy Fellowship 2024/2025 

The fellow will receive a monthly stipend of £2,365 which will cover London living costs. These include accommodation, utilities, food, transport and other basic expenses.

The Academy will cover all costs related to relocation, visas and payment of the UK’s Immigration Healthcare Surcharge which gives access to the UK National Health Service.
