The Global Leadership Challenge for Emerging Young Leaders is a joint initiative of the St. Gallen Symposium and the University of Oxford designed to impact and encourage young and emerging leaders all over the world
This year’s global leadership challenge will be bringing together young and emerging leaders to equip them with the values and skills needed to build a sustainable future and strong leadership skills and knowledge
The Global Leadership Challenge was initiated by St. Gallen Symposium and the University of Oxford and designed to help young and emerging leaders to grow in the wisdom and character required
Leadership that doesn’t simply seek to fulfil personal ambition but furthers societies’ sustainable development.
This year’s global leadership challenge has a focus theme which is “A New Generational Contract” And that’s the main focused event of the challenge which is expected to run from December this year. Issues to be tabled bothering on the ffollowing; in the light of environmental crises, rapid technological change and global demographic shifts, gaps between generations have been widening.
How can cross-generational dialogue and mentoring help us become more responsible leaders? And how can our actions enable greater intergenerational fairness and collaboration?
The years global leadership challenge Will be solving the qualifications with over 100 promising young leaders and 20 Senior Advisors to address some of the most pressing challenges of our time by integrating responsible leadership and practical actions to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The Application to be part of the global leadership challenge for is now open and to close on the 24 October. Application is open to postgraduate students and young professionals from around the world,
Applicants are required to be aged between 21-30 and shall be evaluated on their commitment to responsible leadership and passion for engaging with complex global challenges.
The global leadership challenge is made for a diverse group of postgraduate students and young professionals who are ready to rise to the challenges of our time and develop themselves as the responsible leaders our world desperately needs now.
The Global Leadership Challenge Members can participate virtually from around the world and most sessions of global leadership challenge shall be online while those joining from Oxford and St. Gallen will be attending sessions on 12 May in-person.
Benefits For the members of the global leadership challenge
All active participants will receive a Certificate of Achievement.
Evaluated by an Award Jury, the group with the most outstanding project idea will be able to attend the 51st St. Gallen Symposium as Leaders of Tomorrow.
After global leadership challenge, Members can apply for further mentoring in two tracks: “entrepreneurship” (with EWOR Education) to learn skills and competencies towards building their own ventures, and “leadership development” (with the Oxford Character Project at the University of Oxford) to reflect on their own purpose and grow as a future leader.

The Global Leadership Challenge group with the most outstanding project idea will be offered to join the 52nd St. Gallen Symposium on 4-5 May 2023 as Leaders of Tomorrow and engage in cross-generational dialogue with senior leaders.
As Leaders of Tomorrow, their expenses for travel and accommodation will be fully covered.
After the conference, they will join a global network of emerging thinkers and changemakers
Eligibility criteria:
You are a student (currently enrolled in a Masters or a PhD programme) or a young professional (aged between 21 and 30 years).
You have finished your undergraduate studies.
You have already demonstrated your commitment to responsible leadership through extra-curricular activities and/or work experience.
You are committed to investing around five half-days from 8-12 December 2022
