Introduction to the Fully-funded Columbia University Scholarship 

Applications are now open for the Columbia University Scholarship for displaced students to study in the USA. The Columbia University Scholarship for Displaced Students at Columbia Global is a comprehensive program that provides full tuition coverage and support for non-tuition expenses, ensuring that recipients have the financial security they need to complete their degree. The scholarship is available for the entire duration required to complete the degree, and recipients must be full-time, in-person students to be eligible. With this scholarship, students can focus on their studies and achieve their academic goals without worrying about the financial burden of tuition and related expenses.

The scholarship is open to students who have experienced displacement due to war, violence, political persecution, or natural disasters. Applicants must demonstrate financial need and provide evidence of their displacement.

Eligibility Criteria

This scholarship is for foreign nationals who meet any of the following criteria:

  • Refugee status (worldwide)
  • Received asylum in the United States or submitted a U.S. asylum application
  • In the U.S. under Temporary Protected Status
  • Internally displaced person
  • Afghan national in the U.S. on humanitarian parole or with a special immigrant visa
  • Ukrainian national in the U.S. on parole

Note: U.S. citizens and permanent residents are not eligible.

Application Process

  1. Apply to a participating degree program.
  2. Submit the Scholarship for Displaced Students application via the Submittable Platform.
