UNICEF stand for UNITED NATIONS INTERNATIONAL CHILDREN EMERGENCY FUNDS. It’s UN children emergency funds established to impact on young children all over the world. The UNICEF workers can work in any part of the world under the protection of United Nations.
UNICEF is sponsored by the the United Nations Education Cannot Wait, mapped out fund by the United Nations for children education support in rural and disaster affected areas.
The Education Cannot Wait was first established in 2016 as fund dedicated to global education of children and young people in Africa, Asia, North America and other countries that are have economic disadvantage as result of wars, exploitation.
In the year 2016 at the World Humanitarian Summit the Education Cannot Wait (ECW) was launched to increase sustainability of education in disaster ridden countries. The launch was made by the coalition of international aid agencies
The Education Cannot Wait (ECW) has inspired world economy and world politics to prioritize education for children in disaster ridden countries through education financing, education grants, resources grants such as textbooks, school shoes, school uniforms, school bags, etc.
The Education Cannot Wait also empowers partners in education sectors in the different local communities in different countries. The empowerment is intended to give much weight to the quality of education made available to the local people and also makes for accountability.
The Education Cannot Wait generated Funds are under the UNICEF financial and human resources administration under the rules set out by the UNICEF.
There are individual donations also used by the UNICEF financial and Resource administration to support education and other of it’s activities.
All Education Cannot Wait activities are to support and makes sure that UNICEF achieves it’s aims and objections. The activities are carried out by Education Cannot Wait Secretariat.
How to Be part of UNICEF
Successful applicants to UNICEF jobs in any part of the world is guides by the Secretariat of the Education Cannot Wait.
Staff works for the overall quality of the Organization, UNICEF. Their job description will include, Analyzing, researching, data collection, information processing etc. Depending on stage of the staff employment, some positions are for Internship students and fresh graduates of different disciplines.
Some of the Internship positions are in full time basis while some are part time and someone’s contract basis. Remote positions are available. For on site the Interns and other full time workers work at the Secretariat of the Organization at the United States city of New York
Workers Duties/Job Description
Support to provide Research, information analysis
Respond to the effort of the UNICEF and ECW in providing education in countries suffering the effect of crisis, wars, natural disasters.
Identifying and relating to Refugees and supporting their national education.
Answer to the superiors.
Identifying research areas, defining the research parameters.
Review the Organization’s programmes
Submit to the organization certain project in their table.
Make financial report depending on the department of the staff
State the overview and comprehensive financial report of the organization alongside it’s humanitarian development in response to education in crisis ridden countries.
Support and contribute to building strategic plans of the organization to a very extent that is required by the organization
Make Analysis of data collected and review
Make a report to the organization
Make drafts of the organization input
Review emergency response of the organization
Details needs for operations for supporting investment
Review interventions, needs and impact
Qualifications/Eligibilities.
Be a graduate or master’s level enrollee.
You must not have graduated more than two years .
You must have recorded excellent academic grades
Must be skilled in managing displacement, humanitarian affairs, development, child education.
Have Analytics skills, qualitative and quantitative skills
Writing and Reporting skills
You must be at least 18 years of age at the time of application
You must have English proficiency in speaking, writing and reading
You must not have immediate relatives who is working at UNICEF or any of it’s annex
Must be eligible to work at the UNICEF.
Benefits
Good Salary
Workers and Interns will receive a good stipend, salary payment. Payment and amount will be determined by the location of the job. However, payment will not be less than 1,700 united states dollars for workers at the Geneva, New York offices. Learn more about payment based location at the UNICEF website.
Visa
Workers will be sponsored to get and helped to secure visa to the country of their job locations. UNICEF will issue more guideline and directive on how to get your visa. It will also issue a supportive letter showing that you an employer of UNICEF to further aid applicants visa grant.
Insurance:
Workers at the UNICEF offices are entitled to certain insurance. Enrollee is however, advice to show evidence of health plan
Work and environment for staff
Successful applicants will be working under the supervision of the United Nations International Children Emergency Funds and engage and enumerated by different departments of UNICEF including Education Cannot Wait (ECW)
