Applicants must be applying for one of the following eligible one-year taught Master’s programmes:

4. MSc Public Policy – L2KB09
5. MSc Biotechnology – C2K109
6. MSc Islamic Finance – N3KD09
7. MSc International Business – N2PD09

These programmes were selected due to their academic rigor, relevance to real-world challenges, and potential for fostering impactful careers in the digital, financial, scientific, and policy-making sectors.

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for the scholarship, applicants must meet all of the following conditions:

• Be classified as an international student for tuition purposes.
• Be applying for one of the seven specified programmes listed above.
• Be self-funding their studies (i.e., not receiving any other scholarships or financial sponsorship).
• Have met or exceeded the academic entry requirements for their chosen programme.
• Have received a conditional or unconditional offer of admission from Durham University by the respective round deadline.

How to Apply

Step 1:
Submit an application for one of the seven eligible Master’s programmes via Durham University’s Postgraduate Application Portal

Step 2:
Receive a conditional or unconditional offer of admission by the scholarship round deadline.

Step 3:
Complete and submit the Inspiring Excellence £10K Scholarship Application Form by the applicable round deadline.

Step 4:
Wait for the outcome. All applicants will be reviewed by the scholarship committee. If successful, the £10,000 will be automatically deducted from your tuition fees.

Note: The deadline for this scholarship is as follows:

First Round:

• Scholarship Application Deadline: 30 April 2025 (midnight GMT)
• Deadline to Accept Offer: 4 May 2025

Second Round:

• Scholarship Application and Offer Deadline: 8 June 2025 (midnight GMT)

Important: If you miss the first round, you will automatically be considered for the second round. There is no need to reapply.
