Scholarships for Global Professionals for Master’s Level Studies in Sweden (Fully Funded) for the 2024/2025

Applications are now being accepted for the 2024/2025 Swedish Institute Scholarships.

Are you interested in supporting the sustainable development of your home country and region? Are you seeking an international learning opportunity? The Swedish Institute offers academic scholarships for master’s studies to professionals from 41 countries worldwide.

The SI Scholarship for Global Professionals provides funding for full-time, one- or two-year master’s programs in Sweden. This scholarship covers a broad spectrum of study fields, including over 700 of the 1000 master’s programs taught in English in Sweden.

Through this scholarship, the Swedish Institute (SI) aims to cultivate a network of future global leaders who will contribute to the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and propel progress in their home countries.

Requirements to apply for Global Professionals Master’s Level Scholarships:

The scholarship application opens once per year for master’s programs commencing in the autumn semester. To be eligible, you must:

– Be a citizen of one of the 41 countries eligible for the SI Scholarship for Global Professionals.

– Apply for a master’s program that qualifies for the SI scholarship.

– Be responsible for paying tuition fees at University Admissions.

– Have demonstrated work experience.

– Have exhibited leadership experience through current or past employment, or through involvement in civil society.

Citizenship

To be eligible for the SI scholarship, you must hold citizenship in a country that meets the criteria. However, residency in the country at the time of application is not required.

Master’s Programs

The master’s programs you intend to apply for must be eligible for the SI scholarship. There are over 750 English-taught master’s programs that qualify. You can find them listed below.

University Admission

You must be responsible for paying tuition fees at Swedish universities, have completed the necessary steps for University Admissions, and receive admission to one of the eligible master’s programs by March 30, 2023.

Previous Experience

Demonstrated work experience is a requirement, with certain conditions applicable to specific regions. Additionally, you must have shown leadership experience either in your current or previous employment, or through engagement in civil society.

Citizenship

Individuals from the following countries are eligible to apply for the SI Scholarship for Global Professionals: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bangladesh, Bolivia, Belarus, Brazil, Cambodia, Cameroon, Colombia, Ecuador, Egypt, Ethiopia, Gambia, Georgia, Ghana, Guatemala, Honduras, Indonesia, Jordan, Kenya, Liberia, Malawi, Moldova, Morocco, Myanmar (Burma), Nepal, Nigeria, Pakistan, Peru, Philippines, Rwanda, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Sudan, Tanzania, Tunisia, Uganda, Ukraine, Vietnam, Zambia, Zimbabwe.

Benefits

The Scholarship for Global Professionals is a competitive, fully-funded scholarship which includes:

Full coverage of tuition fees. The fees are paid directly to your Swedish university at the beginning of each semester.

A monthly allowance of SEK 12,000 to cover living expenses for the duration of the study period.

Insurance against illness and accidents.

A travel grant of SEK 15,000 (*10,000 for scholars from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova, and Ukraine). This grant is a one-time payment and does not apply to students already residing in Sweden.

Membership in the SI Network for Future Global Professionals (NFGP), a platform designed to support your professional growth and facilitate networking during your time in Sweden.

Upon completion of your scholarship period, you become a member of the SI Alumni Network, providing a unique opportunity for ongoing networking and professional development.

– From February 12th to 28th: The application portal for the SI Scholarship is open.

– March 21st: University admissions announcement day.

– April 25th: SI Scholarship announcement day.
