Eligibility Criteria

This fellowship targets the next generation of foresight leaders. You are encouraged to apply if:

  • You are a young professional aged 18–35 beginning your journey in futures and foresight, or older but with less than one year of experience in the field.
  • You have a brave, futures-focused idea that addresses systemic issues in your community or globally.
  • Your project can be enhanced, scaled, or deepened through the use of foresight methodologies.
  • You are a lifelong learner who is collaborative and committed to long-term impact (looking at least 10 years into the future).
  • You are dedicated to community building, knowledge sharing, and growing a network of changemakers.
  • You are based anywhere in the world, with a strong emphasis on underrepresented regions such as Asia, Africa, the Middle East, North Africa (MENA), the Caribbean, Central and South America, the Pacific Islands, and the Balkans.

Applicants can be individuals or teams, but each project must have a single lead applicant.

Selection Criteria

The selection process is designed to identify visionaries with the potential to drive lasting change. Applications will be evaluated based on:

  • Theory of Change: A clear, logical framework explaining how your project will use futures and foresight to achieve systemic change.
  • Innovation and Boldness: How creatively and courageously you approach solving major challenges.
  • Impact Vision: A long-term (10+ year) perspective on how your work could shape the future.
  • Community Engagement: A strong commitment to building networks, collaborating, and involving others in your work.
  • Foresight Integration: Demonstrated or planned use of foresight tools, methods, or thinking in your project.

The strongest applications will align futures thinking with real-world action in areas like climate resilience, inclusive governance, youth empowerment, digital justice, and emerging technologies.

The NGFP Fellowship is open globally, but special focus is given to applicants from:

  • Africa
  • Asia
  • The Middle East & North Africa (MENA)
  • The Caribbean
  • Central & South America
  • The Pacific Islands
  • The Balkans

Applicants from marginalized or underrepresented regions and communities are especially encouraged to apply.

Location of the Fellowship

This is a virtual fellowship, meaning you can participate fully from wherever you are in the world. All mentorship, events, training sessions, and community engagements take place online, making the fellowship accessible to those with limited mobility or travel constraints.

How to Apply

Applications must be submitted online. Here’s how to get started:

  4. Only one application per individual or team is allowed. Teams must designate a lead applicant to manage communications and responsibilities.
