Introduction to the Colombia Government Scholarship 2024
The Government of Colombia is pleased to announce that it is now accepting applications for its fully funded scholarship 2024 program. The scholarship is specially designed for foreign students who wish to pursue their master’s, doctorate, or specialization in Colombian universities. However, please note that Colombian nationals are not eligible for this scholarship program, and only applications from other nationalities will be considered.
The scholarship program is overseen and funded by ICETEX, the Colombian government’s organization that supports higher education. The scholarship program is an excellent opportunity for students who want to pursue their academic goals in Colombia without worrying about the financial burden. All selected applicants will receive financial support that covers all the essential expenses, including tuition fees, books, health insurance, medical expenses, visa fees, monthly support, living expenses, and installation costs.

Program Duration
- Spanish Language Course: Up to 6 Months
- Specialization: Up to 18 months (3 academic semesters)
- Master´s: Up to 24 months (4 academic semesters)
- Doctorate: Up to 48 months (8 academic Semesters)

Eligibility Criteria
- Foreign citizens of any nationality can apply. The Scholarship is open to all students who are from outside Colombia.
- Not for Colombian citizens and nationals.
- Must not have any marital or de facto relationship in Colombia.
- Not be older than 50 years
- Have a professional, undergraduate, or graduate degree in any area of knowledge.
- Applicants can apply for up to three degree programs.
- IELTS is not required.

- Academic Letter of Recommendation
- Letter of Admission from the Colombian university
- CV
- Further, my Score in Spanish Language Proficiency
- Academic essay arguing the importance of your studies in Colombia

- Certificate of professional experience

Selection Criteria
- Professional experience (20%)
- Academic excellence (30%)
- Coherence between academic and professional goals (30%)
- Reciprocity of cooperation of the country of origin (10%)
- Geographic location of the Colombian Teaching Center (10%)
