About the Axel Adler Scholarship 2024

Applications are now open for the Axel Adler Scholarship 2024. Are you an international student interested in studying at the University of Gothenburg? If so, then you will be pleased to read this article.

The scholarship is open to students of all nationalities, is a tuition fee waiver, and is awarded to students pursuing international Master’s or Bachelor’s programs at the University of Gothenburg. Applicants must demonstrate academic excellence and a commitment to their studies. The deadline for applications is June 30, 2024.

The Axel Adler Scholarship 2024 is funded by the Adlerbertska Scholarship Foundation and the Adlerbertska Grant Foundation, in collaboration with the Swedish Council for Higher Education (UHR). The selection of scholars is primarily based on the applicant’s qualifications with regard to the study programme.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the Axel Adler Scholarship 2024:

  • You are required to pay tuition in Sweden.
  • You need to apply for an international campus-based programme at the University of Gothenburg as your first priority.
  • You need to submit your application for studies, pay the application fee, and document your eligibility for studies by February 1, 2024.

Selection Criteria

Academic staff make the assessment and ranking based on the CV and motivation letter in your scholarship application. The assessment is made in collaboration with the assessment of your application to the study program to determine your suitability for the programme as well as your commitment and desire to study. There is one scholarship awarded for each programme.

There is an exception for Master programmes in Fine Art, Crafts, and Design and programmes in Music and Performance, which will be awarded a total of four scholarships for all programmes. The scholarships are renewable for up to two semesters if the student meets the eligibility criteria. The scholarship amount is based on merit and varies between programmes. The scholarships are awarded to full-time students only.

Benefits of the Axel Adler Scholarship 2024

The scholarship covers the tuition fee of the study program you are admitted to and is a tuition fee waiver only. No additional financial support for living expenses or travel grants is provided. There is one scholarship awarded for each program, with the exception of Master’s programs in Fine Art, Crafts, and Design and programs in Music and Performance, which will be awarded a total of four scholarships for all programs.

How to Apply

Students who have applied to a programme at the University of Gothenburg as their first priority through the link below and fulfill the requirements will receive an email with application instructions around February 8, 2024. The invitation to apply for the Axel Adler Scholarship will be sent to the email address you have registered at universityadmissions.se.

If you are eligible and have not received an email by this date (and also checked your spam mail folder), please let us know by sending an email to scholarships@gu.se.

When applying for an Axel Adler Scholarship, you shall include a CV and a letter of motivation as written text. These are used for the selection of scholars. In the motivational letter, you have the possibility to highlight the merits of your CV. It is not possible to attach any other form of documentation to your scholarship application.
