About the University of Padua International Excellence Scholarships

Applications are now open for the University of Padua International Excellence Scholarships 2025 for outstanding international students who wish to pursue undergraduate or master’s degree programs in Italy. This prestigious scholarship offers financial support to highly talented students enrolling in English-taught programs at the University of Padua for the 2025/2026 academic year.

The University of Padua is providing 62 merit-based scholarships to exceptional international students enrolling in an English-taught bachelor’s, master’s, or single-cycle degree program. The selection process is highly competitive, as only candidates with the strongest academic records and achievements will be considered. Scholarship recipients will also serve as ambassadors for the university at various academic and cultural events.

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for the University of Padua International Excellence Scholarship, applicants must meet the following requirements:

Must not hold Italian citizenship (except for those with dual citizenship, including Italian).
Must possess a non-Italian foreign secondary school diploma (for bachelor’s or single-cycle degree applicants) or a non-Italian bachelor’s degree (for master’s degree applicants).

Must not reside in Italy.
Must apply for one or more of the eligible English-taught degree programs at the University of Padua. (Applicants can select up to three programs.)

Selection Criteria

Benefits of the University of Padua International Excellence Scholarship

Selected students will receive:

A full tuition fee waiver (students will only need to pay a small regional tax and a stamp duty).
An annual scholarship of €8,000 (gross amount).

Duration of the Scholarship

Up to 2 years for Master’s degree candidates.
Up to 3 years for Bachelor’s and Single-Cycle degree candidates.

After the maximum duration of the scholarship, recipients will be responsible for covering their own expenses, including tuition fees, if they have not yet completed their program.
