    Dear Sir/Madam
I am writing to express my strong interest in joining your institution as part of your research group in Your institute. With over a decade of scholarly engagement and a multidisciplinary background spanning urban geography, satellite remote sensing, and environmental hazard monitoring, I bring a unique integration of academic excellence and practical application to pressing global and regional challenges.
My academic journey began with a Bachelor’s and Master’s in Urban Planning Geography, culminating in a Ph.D. focused on Satellite Data Analysis and Advanced Remote Sensing Techniques for monitoring environmental hazards, climate change, and ecosystem services. I am currently affiliated with the Malaysia-Japan International Institute of Technology (MJIIT), where my research and supervision efforts contribute to both scholarly advancement and practical urban resilience strategies.
To date, I have authored or co-authored over 65 peer-reviewed publications in respected international journals such as Ecological Informatics, Environmental Monitoring and Assessment, GeoJournal, Acta Ecologica Sinica, and Regional Statistics, among others. My work spans themes of spatial planning, land-use change modeling, urban heat islands, flood risk, informal settlements, and spatial justice. Many of these studies employ advanced GIS and remote sensing methodologies, including the use of Google Earth Engine, Cellular Automata-Markov models, and multi-criteria decision-making techniques.
In parallel, I serve on the editorial boards of several international journals, including the International Journal of Applied Earth Observation and Geoinformation, Urban Environment Planning and Development, and Ain Shams Engineering Journal. I am also an active reviewer for more than 20 academic journals in the fields of environmental planning, sustainability, water management, and urban policy.
Beyond publications, I have demonstrated extensive leadership in supervising Ph.D. and Master’s students across a wide array of urban-environmental topics, with over 30 ongoing or recently completed thesis projects. These span diverse topics from creative urban tourism and aging populations to transboundary water issues and satellite-based post-disaster analyses.
Given my academic background, publication record, international collaborations, and passion for developing interdisciplinary solutions to urban and environmental challenges, I am confident in my ability to contribute meaningfully to your department’s research and educational mission.
I would welcome the opportunity to further discuss how my expertise aligns with your institution’s goals. Thank you for considering my application. I look forward to the possibility of contributing to your team.

    Sincerely,
    Dr. Kamran Jafarpour Ghalehteimouri
