Eligibility Criteria for Matsumae International Foundation (MIF) Fellowship
To qualify for this Japan scholarship for researchers, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Must be a non-Japanese national
- Must hold a PhD (Doctoral degree)
- Must be 49 years old or younger at the time of application
- Must have an invitation letter from a host institution in Japan
- Must demonstrate proficiency in English or Japanese
- Must not have previously lived, studied, or worked in Japan
- Must be employed in their home country and intend to return after completing the fellowship
