Applications for the Humboldt Research Fellowship 2024-2025 in Germany are now open. This fully funded fellowship program offers support for a duration of 6 to 24 months. The Humboldt Research Fellowship, a prestigious initiative by the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation, is open to researchers from around the globe, providing them with the opportunity to pursue their research in Germany. With an annual allocation of approximately 700 fellowships, this program offers extensive support to researchers.
Please note that German nationals are not eligible for this fellowship. This program presents a fantastic opportunity for researchers, offering comprehensive support for their research endeavours. Types of Fellowship
Two fellowship programs are available in association with a host at a German research institution of your preference.
- Postdoctoral Researchers: Those who have finished their doctorates within the last four years are eligible to apply for this program. Fellows can conduct research in Germany for 6 to 24 months
- For Experienced Researchers: Researchers at a later stage of their careers are eligible to apply for this program. Grants may be split into up to three stays over three years, with durations ranging from six to eighteen months.
Benefits of the Humboldt Research Fellowship 2024-2025

Eligibility Criteria
- The fellowship is open to all nationals except German nationals.

- Demonstrated research excellence through publications in internationally recognized, peer-reviewed journals and publications.
- A well-established research profile with a strong list of academic and research achievements.
