About the MPI Europe Paid Internship

The Migration Policy Institute Europe (MPI Europe) is currently accepting applications for its 2024–25 internship program. Established in Brussels, Belgium, in 2011, MPI Europe is a nonprofit, independent research institute dedicated to advancing the understanding of migration in Europe and contributing to informed policymaking in this area. The institute offers two types of internships: Research Internships and Finance and Administration Internships.

Selected interns will receive a generous monthly stipend of Euro 1310, along with meal vouchers. The internship program has a duration of six months and requires physical presence in Brussels, with interns expected to travel to the city for the duration of the program. Moreover, interns will be provided with a lunch voucher worth 8 euros for each workday.

It’s worth noting that there are no application fees, and proficiency in IELTS is not a requirement. To be eligible, applicants must hold at least a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field. Eligibility Criteria

Qualifications for Research Internship

  • Must hold a Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant field.
  • Currently enrolled students in a master’s or PhD program can apply. But they should be available throughout the internship.
  • Show interest in the field of migration, asylum, or integration.
  • Good written and oral English communication skills.
  • Candidates who are work-authorized in Belgium will be considered.

Qualifications for Finance and Administration Intern

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or another business-related field.
  • Intermediate-level proficiency with Microsoft Office, in particular Excel, but also Word, PowerPoint, Access, and Outlook
  • Good written and oral English communication skills.
  • Candidates who are work-authorized in Belgium will be considered.
