About the Google Student Training in Engineering Program (STEP)

The Google Student Training in Engineering Program (STEP) Internship 2025 is now accepting applications. This internship is designed for students in their first or second year of an accredited full-time degree program in Computer Science or related technical fields. Eligible candidates should anticipate graduating between 2025 and 2027. Google strongly encourages applications from students underrepresented in the engineering and technology industries.

Eligibility Criteria

Minimum qualifications:

Currently enrolled in the first, second, third, or fourth year of a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
Programming experience in Java, C++, or Python.

Preferred qualifications:

Available for a full-time 12-week internship during the summer of 2025.
Expected to return to a full-time Bachelor’s degree program for at least two years after completing the summer 2025 internship.

Demonstrated experience in programming outside of university coursework.
A strong interest and the ability to learn other coding languages as needed.
Fluency in speaking and writing English.
