Eligible Fields

Rhodes Scholars may apply to pursue any full-time postgraduate program offered at the University of Oxford. There are no restrictions on the field of study, making the scholarship open to a wide range of disciplines.

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for the Rhodes Scholarship, applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Nationality: Must be a citizen of a Rhodes-eligible country.
  • Residency: Must have resided in an eligible country for at least five of the last ten years.
  • Age: Applicants must fall within one of the following age brackets:
    • Between 18 and 24 years old as of 1st October 2025 (born between 1st October 2000 and 2nd October 2007).
    • Up to 25 years old as of 1st October 2025 (born between 1st October 1999 and 2nd October 2007) for students of medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, law, or engineering.
    • Up to 27 years old as of 1st October 2025 (born after 1st October 1998) for those who completed their first undergraduate degree after 1st October 2024.
  • Academic Achievement: Must have completed (or be on track to complete) an undergraduate degree with First Class Honours or the highest classification offered by their institution (e.g., Distinction).
  • English Language Proficiency: Must meet the University of Oxford’s English language requirements or be eligible to request a waiver.

  • Two economy-class flights – one at the beginning and one at the end of your time at Oxford.
