About the Thailand AIT Scholarships

The AIT Scholarships are awarded to top-performing international applicants who demonstrate exceptional academic records, leadership potential, and a strong motivation to contribute to development and innovation across Asia and beyond. The scholarships are designed to support international students without requiring them to commit to post-study work obligations (no bond required). Awards are granted based on merit, and cover full or partial tuition fees depending on the candidate’s qualifications.

Established in 1959, AIT is an independent, international postgraduate institution located in Pathum Thani, near Bangkok, Thailand. It aims to develop highly skilled professionals who are equipped to address global challenges through technology, innovation, and sustainable development.

Eligible Fields

Scholarships are available for all academic programs offered by AIT under the following schools:

  1. School of Engineering and Technology (SET)
    – Civil and Infrastructure Engineering
    – Information and Communication Technologies
    – Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering
    – Mechatronics, Nanotechnology, etc.
  2. School of Environment, Resources and Development (SERD)
    – Environmental Engineering
    – Climate Change and Sustainable Development
    – Natural Resources Management
    – Food Engineering and Bioprocess Technology
    – Energy, Water Engineering and Management, etc.
  3. School of Management (SOM)
    – Business Analytics and Digital Transformation
    – International Finance
    – Sustainable Entrepreneurship and Development
    – Marketing, etc.

Eligible Countries

This scholarship is open to all nationalities, especially those from developing countries in Asia, Africa, the Middle East, Latin America, and the Pacific Islands.

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for the Thailand AIT Scholarships, applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Nationality: Open to students from all countries.
  • Educational Qualification:
    • For Master’s programs: A 4-year Bachelor’s degree from a recognized institution.
    • For Doctoral programs: A Master’s degree with a minimum GPA of 3.5/4.0, and a Bachelor’s GPA of at least 2.75/4.0.
  • English Proficiency:
    • Master’s: Minimum IELTS-Academic or AIT-EET score of 5.0
    • Doctoral: Minimum IELTS-Academic or AIT-EET score of 5.5
  • All documents must be submitted through the AIT application portal.

Selection Process

Scholarship recipients are selected by each School’s dedicated evaluation committee based on:

  • Academic excellence
  • English language proficiency
  • Alignment with the field of study
  • Potential contribution to the region and the candidate’s home country

Each selected applicant is awarded a scholarship amount (partial or full tuition waiver) that is fixed for the entire duration of the program. Final decisions are made and approved by the School Dean.

Please Note:
While tuition may be fully or partially covered, students are still required to cover the following expenses:

  • Registration Fee: 20,000 Baht per semester (~$550 USD)
  • Living Expenses: Estimated at 11,500 to 15,000 Baht/month (~$310–$400 USD), covering accommodation, meals, transportation, and personal expenses.

How to Apply

  1. Choose Your Program: Select a Master’s or Doctoral program at AIT under SET, SERD, or SOM.
  2. Prepare Your Documents: Submit academic transcripts, English proficiency test scores, letters of recommendation, CV, and statement of purpose.
  3. Submit Online Application: Apply directly through AIT’s official admissions portal.
  4. No Separate Scholarship Form: The scholarship is awarded automatically during the admission evaluation process.
  5. Await Notification: Selected candidates will be contacted directly with details of their award.

January 2026 Intake: Apply by 20 December 2025

August 2025 Intake: Apply by 20 July 2025
