The ECOWAS Bank for Investment and Development (EBID) Young Graduates Program

The ECOWAS Bank for Investment and Development (EBID), operating as the financial arm of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), stands as an international financial institution representing the 15 ECOWAS Member States:

Benin, Burkina Faso, Cape Verde, Ivory Coast, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Liberia, Mali, Niger, Nigeria, Senegal, Sierra Leone, and Togo. Nestled in Lomé within the Togolese Republic, its mandate revolves around fostering conditions conducive to the emergence of a robust, industrialized, and well-integrated West Africa, both internally and on the global economic stage, to harness the opportunities stemming from globalization.

In line with its commitment to nurturing talent and fostering regional development, EBID has initiated a dynamic young graduates program aimed at recruiting individuals from universities and prominent institutions across West Africa and its diaspora. This program specifically targets young, highly skilled graduates under the age of thirty (30) at the time of enlistment. Successful candidates will embark on a transformative journey as young executives in training within the Bank, engaging in a two-year fixed-term contract (CDD) characterized by a rigorous six-month probationary period.

Throughout the tenure of the fixed-term contract (CDD), these recruits will undergo a rotational assignment scheme across various departments, affording them invaluable insights into operational dynamics and fostering seamless integration within interdisciplinary teams. Under the mentorship of seasoned senior managers, they will navigate the intricacies of departmental functions, policies, and developmental initiatives championed by the Bank.

Upon demonstrating commendable performance and commitment during the fixed-term contract (CDD) period, candidates stand poised for potential elevation to permanent staff status through conversion to an indefinite-term contract. This transition signifies a pivotal milestone, cementing their roles as integral contributors to the Bank’s sustained growth and impactful operations.

In essence, EBID’s young graduates program not only serves as a conduit for attracting and nurturing top-tier talent but also underscores the institution’s unwavering dedication to fostering regional economic prosperity and bolstering the collective capacity of West Africa to thrive in an increasingly interconnected global landscape. Through strategic talent cultivation and innovative capacity-building initiatives, EBID remains steadfast in its pursuit of catalyzing sustainable development and fostering a brighter future for the West African sub-region.
