About the BPP University Postgraduate Law Scholarship
Are you aspiring to build a successful career in law but worried about the high cost of legal education? BPP University is here to help. With a mission to improve access to the legal profession for students from all backgrounds, BPP University has launched its 2025–2026 Postgraduate Law Scholarship Fund, offering over £1.4 million in financial support.
This scholarship fund is designed to support students pursuing postgraduate legal studies at BPP University. It includes full, half, and partial tuition scholarships for domestic and international students who demonstrate academic excellence, financial need, community involvement, and a strong commitment to a legal career. The scholarships are available for a wide range of law-related postgraduate programs and aim to foster inclusivity, especially for students from underrepresented groups in the legal field.
Eligible Fields
The BPP University Law Scholarship Fund is open to applicants pursuing the following postgraduate legal courses:
- Solicitor Training (including the Solicitors Qualifying Examination – SQE)
- Barrister Training Course (BTC)
- Law Conversion Courses for non-law graduates (e.g., PGDL)
These programs are designed to equip students with the necessary qualifications and skills to practice law in the UK and internationally.
Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for the BPP University Law Scholarship Fund 2025, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Have applied to study a postgraduate law course at BPP University for the 2025–2026 academic year.
- Hold at least a 2:1 undergraduate degree from a recognized institution. Candidates with a 2:2 may still apply if they can demonstrate mitigating circumstances.
- Be a new student – applicants must not already be enrolled in a BPP postgraduate course.
- Not be fully sponsored by an employer or any other organization.
- Demonstrate a genuine interest in pursuing a legal career, especially with a focus on social impact, access to justice, or public service.
Selection Criteria
All eligible applications will be assessed holistically based on the following:
- Academic excellence: Strong academic record and relevant qualifications.
- Evidence of financial hardship or adversity: Challenges or barriers faced in pursuing education.
- Involvement in community or pro bono work: Commitment to using legal knowledge for the public good.
- Dedication to the legal profession: Clear motivation and future legal career aspirations.
- Leadership and transferable skills: Demonstrated ability to make a difference beyond the classroom.
Shortlisted applicants for full or half fee scholarships may be invited to complete a scholarship project or assessment as part of the final selection process.
Eligible Countries
All nationalities are welcome to apply. This scholarship is open to both UK-based and international students, reflecting BPP University’s commitment to global legal education and diversity in the legal profession.
Benefits of the BPP University Postgraduate Law Scholarship
Successful applicants will receive one of the following awards:
- Full Fee Scholarship – Covers 100% of tuition fees for the selected postgraduate law program.
- Half Fee Scholarship – Covers 50% of tuition fees.
- Standard Scholarship – Offers a £3,000 contribution toward tuition fees.
These scholarships are applied directly to tuition costs and are non-repayable.
