The Village Capital Greentech investment-readiness accelerator, known as Greentech 2024: The Future of Sustainability, stands as a beacon for advancing innovative and sustainable solutions while actively addressing the challenges of climate change across Africa.
Sponsored by the Moody’s Foundation, this accelerator program is tailored to nurture startups that champion resilience-building initiatives and aim to mitigate the adverse effects of climate change.
Dedicated to fostering diversity and inclusion, the Africa-focused program places a special emphasis on supporting startups led by underrepresented individuals or hailing from countries like Egypt, Kenya, Nigeria, Senegal, and South Africa. By prioritizing these diverse voices, the accelerator aims to empower communities often overlooked in the sustainability dialogue.

Eligibility
Eligibility requirements include:
Startups must operate as for-profit entities with legal incorporation and active operations in one or more of the following African countries: Egypt, Kenya, Nigeria, Senegal, or South Africa. They should offer market-based technological solutions addressing challenges specific to these regions. Furthermore, they must adhere to local fiscal and business laws.
Additionally, startups should have developed at least a minimum viable product (MVP), demonstrated some traction in the market, and raised less than USD 1M in equity funding. Validation of their business model could include successful pilot studies, a growing user base, strategic partnerships, or revenue generation.
Moreover, at least one of the founders must be based full-time in Egypt, Kenya, Nigeria, Senegal, or South Africa.
