These scholarships are made possible through a partnership between the Canon Collins Trust and the Ros Moger and Terry Furlong groups. It’s worth noting that Ros and Terry were esteemed educationalists from London, and since 2001, funds have been raised by their friends and family in their memory to award scholarships in their honour.

Furthermore, the Canon Collins Trust, in collaboration with RMTF, seeks to identify and support outstanding individuals who are dedicated to promoting social justice in southern Africa. For these individuals, a postgraduate qualification is seen as a crucial tool in their efforts to contribute to the creation of a fair and equitable society..

  • Justice, which includes Climate Justice, Law, Economics and Politics
  • Education policy and practice
  • Humanities, which includes Literature, History, Anthropology and the Arts

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible to apply for this scholarship, interested candidates must fulfill the requirements below:

  • Hold a nationality or refugee status in any of the following: Botswana, Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique, Swaziland, Zambia, Angola, Malawi, Mozambique, Swaziland.
  • Be a regular resident of one of the nations mentioned above.
  • Hold a strong first degree (at least a second class, upper division, or comparable), or be set to graduate within the application year.
  • Be attending a South African university or applying to do so.
