Eligibility criteria for the UN Jobs

Minimum age: this depends however, most of the positions requires 25 years old. Nationals of the country of assignment are not eligible, except the assignments is in the UN Headquarters’ duty stations.

Description of task for the UN Jobs

Within the delegated authority and under the supervision of the DRR Technical Specialist, Sahel Resilience Project his/her designated mandated representative(s), the UN Volunteer Monitoring, Evaluation & Reporting Specialist is expected to perform the following tasks:

Collection, synthesis and monitoring of the information on the progress made in the implementation of the project in line with project outputs at regional and national level;

Analysis of documents and reports submitted by implementing partners and ensure that they are submitted on time and are of good quality;

Contribution to project planning in close collaboration with the project team;

Continuous monitoring of the work plan implementation based on activities and results indicators and targets, including analysis of gaps and proposal to the project team of corrective measures, when required;

Timely information on progress and results by compiling, organizing, analyzing, monitoring, and preparing quarterly and annual progress reports as well as the project contribution to corporate reports substantiated by strong data and evidence;

Put in place mechanisms to ensure a good flow of information on project implementation between the national level and the regional level;

Provide regular information/data for updating UNDP platforms.

Qualifications/Requirements for the UN Jobs

Master degree or equivalent

An advanced university degree (Master) in public policy/administration, economics, finance, international development, environment or related field.

Experience requirement for the UN Jobs

  • A minimum of 5 years relevant experience in national/international development context with a focus on project management support and coordination, including monitoring and reporting;
  • High proficiency in research, analysis, and writing documents;
  • Excellent oral and written skills; excellent drafting, formulation, reporting skills;
  • Accuracy and professionalism in document production and editing;
  • Ability to work and adapt professionally and effectively in a challenging environment; ability to work effectively in a multicultural team of international and national personnel;
  • Proficiency and experience in using contemporary software packages;
  • Familiarity with the UN system and other development organizations is an asset;
  • Excellent oral and written skills; excellent drafting, formulation, reporting skills;
  • Demonstrated experience and/or good knowledge of UN’s working modalities;
  • Solid overall computer literacy, including proficiency in various MS Office applications (Excel, Word, etc.) and email/internet; familiarity with database management; and office technology equipment;
  • Self-motivated, ability to work with minimum supervision; ability to work with tight deadlines;
