About the PNST Fellowship Programme
The United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs, in collaboration with the Government of Japan and the Kyushu Institute of Technology (Kyutech), invites applications for the 2025 United Nations/Japan Long-term Fellowship Programme. This fellowship programme, designed for nationals of developing countries or non-space-faring nations, aims to advance knowledge and skills in nano-satellite technologies.
The PNST Fellowship Programme will select up to three students for the Masters course (two years) and three students for the Doctorate course (three years) each year. Successful candidates will complete their studies at Kyutech’s Graduate School, enrolling in the Space Engineering International Course (SEIC) after passing the entrance exam. Upon completion and defense of their thesis, participants will earn a Master’s or Doctorate degree. This fellowship offers students hands-on research experience in nano-satellite development, with access to Kyutech’s state-of-the-art facilities.

- Hold the required academic qualifications: a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent for those applying for the Master’s course, or a Master’s degree or equivalent for those applying for the Doctorate course, with studies in engineering or related fields. Benefits of the PNST Fellowship Programme
Selected fellows will receive a monthly stipend (approximately 144,000 yen) through the MEXT (Monbukagakusho) Research Student Scholarship to support living expenses, including housing, food, and local transportation.
