The World Heritage Scholarship is a prestigious international residency program established in 2018 by the Region of Gävleborg. It is designed to foster creative and research projects that explore the relationship between the Decorated Farmhouses of Hälsingland—a UNESCO World Heritage site—and other World Heritage sites globally.

The scholarship offers recipients a one-month residency at the Hälsingland farmhouses, along with a grant of 50,000 SEK to support project-related costs. This initiative emphasises cross-cultural exchange, innovation, and sustainability in the study and representation of world heritage.

Eligible Fields

The scholarship is open to individuals in disciplines such as:

• Cultural Research
• Any other field related to UNESCO World Heritage sites

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

• Open to participants from all nationalities.
• Applicants must present a unique project idea that relates to the UNESCO World Heritage List.
• The project should establish a connection between the Decorated Farmhouses of Hälsingland and another UNESCO World Heritage site.
