About the 2025 UNICEF Internship

Applications are now open for the UNICEF internship 2025 in Japan. This fully paid internship program will take place at UNICEF’s Tokyo Office, offering participants the chance to gain valuable work experience while contributing to UNICEF’s mission of promoting child rights, health, education, and protection worldwide.

The internship program will run for a duration of 3 to 6 months, beginning anytime between March 2025 and December 2025. Successful applicants will have the opportunity to work under the supervision of the Public Partnership Specialist at the Tokyo office.

The UNICEF Internship 2025 provides interns with hands-on experience in public partnerships, communications, and program support. Interns will receive a daily stipend and may have the flexibility to work remotely on certain days, depending on the tasks assigned.

This program is open to current undergraduates, graduate students, and recent graduates (within the past two years).

Eligibility Criteria for UNICEF Internship 2025

To qualify for this internship, applicants must:

  • Be currently enrolled in an undergraduate, graduate, or doctoral program, or have graduated within the past two years.
  • Commit to working at least 4 days per week for a period of 3 to 6 months.
  • Have a strong interest in UNICEF’s mission areas, such as child rights, education, health, nutrition, gender equality, and water and sanitation.
  • Be fluent in English and Japanese (written and spoken).
  • Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities of the Intern

Interns will work under the supervision of the Public Partnership Specialist and assist with:

  1. Information Gathering and Media Support: Collect and organize information for media outreach and key counterparts.
  2. Content Management: Update and enhance the Tokyo Office’s website and social media platforms.
  3. Translation Support: Assist in translating UNICEF materials and public messages into Japanese.
  4. Event Planning: Help organize office events, workshops, and consultations.
  5. Administrative Support: Perform other administrative tasks assigned by the supervisor.
