About MPOWER Global Citizen Scholarship

The MPOWER Global Citizen Scholarship 2025 is now accepting applications from outstanding international students and DACA recipients who wish to pursue higher education in the United States or Canada. This prestigious award, offered by MPOWER Financing, aims to support exceptional students in fields such as science, technology, business, and public policy.

Founded by former international students Manu Smadja and Mike Davis, MPOWER Financing works to remove financial barriers and empower global scholars to achieve their academic and professional dreams.

The MPOWER Global Citizen Scholarship is open to students who are currently enrolled in, or have been accepted into, a full-time degree program at an MPOWER-supported U.S. or Canadian university. The program seeks students who show academic excellence, leadership potential, and a strong vision for making a positive impact in their communities and beyond.

MPOWER Global Citizen Scholarship Benefits

Three awards will be granted for this intake:

• Grand Prize: $8,000
• First Runner-Up: $2,000
• Second Runner-Up: $1,000

Important: Applicants can apply only once per year. Scholarships cannot be transferred, sold, or assigned.

MPOWER Global Citizen Scholarship Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for the MPOWER Global Citizen Scholarship 2025, applicants must:

1. Be enrolled or accepted in a full-time degree program at an MPOWER-supported school in the USA or Canada.
2. Be an international student legally permitted to study in the USA or Canada.
3. For studies in the USA, applicants must meet one of the following:
   1. Hold a valid study visa.
   2. Be protected under DACA.
   3. Be a U.S. permanent resident (Green Card holder).
4. For studies in Canada, applicants must:
   1. Hold Canadian permanent residency, OR
   2. Have a valid Canadian study permit.

Selection Process

MPOWER Global Citizen Scholarship recipients will be chosen based on:

• Essay Quality: Clear, compelling, and well-structured, showing a strong vision, goals, and excellent English communication skills.
• Potential: Demonstrated ability to excel as a scientist, leader, entrepreneur, or changemaker.
• Field Alignment: Clear link between the applicant’s chosen field of study and their future aspirations.
