The competition spans across countries in South Asia Pacific, the Middle East, and North Africa (SAPMENA). The regional semi-finals will be held online, catering to specific regions such as the Gulf Cooperation Council, India, and Southeast Asia. This inclusive approach ensures that innovators from diverse markets can participate and compete. The grand finale is set to take place in person in Singapore in October 2024, bringing together top finalists from each region to present their solutions to a panel of esteemed judges and industry experts. Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for this program, you need to possess the following qualities:
Innovation: Interested candidates should have innovative, yet tested, technologically advanced solutions that are supported by a current clientele.
Scalability: Interested candidates should have established, scalable businesses that have the potential to grow significantly across a broad range of brands and markets.
Sustainability: Interested candidates should ideally be running sustainable businesses and have a sustainable mindset.
Effect on L’Oréal: Interested candidates should have practical solutions that significantly address L’Oréal’s major issues.
Selection Criteria
The Semi-Final or Grand Finale judges will be selected from a diverse group of L’Oréal brand representatives, business professionals, and domain experts who have in-depth knowledge of the problem statement themes and relevant technologies. As for assistance provided to help prepare for the Semi-Final or Grand Finale, participants can expect coaching, mentoring, and guidance from industry experts to refine their presentations and pitches. In terms of confidentiality, all information shared by participants will be kept strictly confidential to ensure the integrity and fairness of the competition.
Benefits of the L’Oréal Big Bang Beauty Tech Innovation Program
All participants who make it to the semi-finals and finals will be given the chance to participate in a comprehensive pitch training and preparation session, which will include personalized one-on-one coaching.
How to Apply
To apply, please submit your application online along with all the necessary supporting documents. When filling out the form, the first step is to select the region where your business is incorporated or primarily operates. You have the option to choose between India and Southeast Asia.
Semi-Finals
All applications will be examined by a panel of experts and evaluators following the submission deadline. Following evaluation, ten startups will be selected to pitch in the virtual regional semifinals for Southeast Asia and India, respectively. Three to five weeks before the corresponding regional semi-finals, the startups that made the shortlist will be informed.
Grand Finale
A maximum of ten startup finalists will advance to the Grand Finale, which will take place in Singapore*, the home of L’Oréal SAPMENA, from their respective regional semi-finals in the GCC, India, and Southeast Asia.
The required information about your startup will be included in your application, and the submission proposal will include an overview of the challenge statement or statements you are addressing, your proposal for L’Oréal, and pertinent use cases and examples. Make sure that your application and pitch deck answer all the selection criteria. You are required to submit a 2-minute video. There may be differences between the final pitch deck you use for this application and the one you can use at the semi-final or final events.
