About the King Saud University PhD Scholarships

Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must meet the general requirements set by the Deanship of Graduate Studies at King Saud University. Specific departments may have additional criteria. The general eligibility requirements include:
- A Master’s degree from an accredited institution.
- English proficiency demonstrated through one of the following official test scores:
- TOEFL iBT: Minimum score of 61
- IELTS: Minimum score of 6.0
- STEP: Minimum score of 85
- (Applicants with a Master’s degree from accredited institutions in the U.S., Canada, U.K., Ireland, Australia, or New Zealand may be exempt from this requirement.)
- Two letters of recommendation from academic or professional referees.
- A Curriculum Vitae (CV) that includes evidence of recent publications or patents (if available).
- A statement of purpose detailing academic and research goals.
- A GRE general test score is preferable but not mandatory unless required by the selected department.
- A personal interview may be required (conducted virtually or in person).
