About the Joint Japan World Bank Group Scholarship Program
The Joint Japan World Bank Graduate Scholarship Program (JJ/WBGSP) invites applications for its 2025/2026 academic year. Eligibility Criteria
General Eligibility:
- Must be a national of a World Bank member developing country.
- Must not hold dual citizenship with any developed country.
- Must be in good health.
- Must have earned a bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) at least three years prior to the application deadline.
- Must have at least three years of recent development-related work experience after earning a bachelor’s degree.
- Must be employed in full-time, paid development-related work at the time of application submission.
- Exception: Applicants from countries on the list of Fragile and Conflict States (as outlined in the application guidelines) are exempt from this requirement.
- Must be unconditionally admitted (except for funding) to a preferred university master’s program by the scholarship application deadline.
- Must apply to a program outside of their home country or country of residence.
- Cannot be an Executive Director, their alternate, staff of the World Bank Group, or a close relative of these individuals.
