The IOM Internship Programme 2025 aims at attracting talented students and graduates who have a specific interest in, or whose studies have covered, areas relevant to IOM programmes and activities. Interns must be between 20 and 36 years old and should have less than two years of relevant working experience.
In general, the Internship Programme aims at attracting talented students and graduates who:
a) have a specific interest in, or whose studies have covered, areas relevant to IOM programmes and activities;
b) are holding a scholarship for internship placements in international organizations and/or for whom internship is required to complete their studies; or
c) are sponsored by governmental/non governmental institutions and/or academia to work in specific areas relevant to both IOM and the sponsor.
d) are either enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum Bachelor’s level or equivalent) or have graduated in the last 12 months.
e) are between 20 and 36 years of age.

IOM Internship Programme 2025 Responsibilities
Context:
Working under the overall direction of the Chief of Mission in Doha, Qatar and the direct supervision of the Migration Management Officer, the intern will assist with the operational activities of the Mission within the Migration Unit.
Objective of the IOM Internship Programme 2025: to provide students and recent graduates from diverse academic backgrounds with a thorough understanding of migration issues in Qatar and the work of IOM and the UN system more broadly on these issues at country level
IOM Internship Programme 2025 Functions / Key Results Expected:
The intern will assist within the Migration Management Unit as follows:
- Assist with preparing visibility materials on migration in both English and Arabic
- Assist with preparing communication materials including content creation for brochures and PowerPoints in both English and Arabic
- Assist in the organization of workshops, meetings, and conference including taking minutes of meetings, drafting meeting reports, and preparing for meeting logistics
- Contribute to the expansion of IOM activities in the country including through the identification of project opportunities and project ideas on migration management
- Interact with IOM partners on relevant activities
- Assist with enhancing the social media presence of IOM Qatar including through the creation of social media content
- Carry out any other tasks that may be required
- Perform such other duties as may be assigned.
Deliverables:
- The intern is expected to produce at the end of the internship period a report with a reflection on the work that they have carried out at IOM during this period.
IOM Internship Programme 2025 Qualifications
Education and Experience:
The candidate should:
- Be enrolled in the final academic year of Bachelor’s / Master`s level or equivalent.
- be enrolled in a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher);
- or have graduated with a university degree (not later than 1 year ago).

Languages
Fluency in English and Arabic are required.
IOM’s official languages are English, French and Spanish.
Proficiency of language(s) required will be specifically evaluated during the selection process, which may include written and/or oral assessments.
