About the African Future Leader Scholarship

The African Future Leader Scholarship is a highly competitive award offered by Imperial College Business School to support outstanding African students who have demonstrated strong leadership potential and wish to pursue a full-time MBA at Imperial College London. Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the African Future Leader Scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Be a resident of an African country (as defined by the United Nations, which includes all 54 African nations).
  • Have strong leadership potential, demonstrated through:
    • Academic achievements
    • Work experience (full-time roles, internships, entrepreneurial projects, or significant career progression)
    • Community contributions (volunteer work, leadership in social impact projects, or advocacy efforts)
  • Have a strong and competitive application for the full-time MBA program, including:
    • A compelling personal statement
    • Strong performance in the admissions interview
    • Relevant professional experience and career goals aligned with leadership and impact in Africa
  • Must not be a continuing student at Imperial College London.

Selection Criteria

Applicants are assessed based on:

  1. Academic Excellence: A strong academic background, preferably with outstanding undergraduate and/or postgraduate achievements.
  2. Leadership Potential: Demonstrated leadership through work experience, entrepreneurial ventures, volunteer work, or community leadership roles.

  4. Strength of MBA Application: A well-prepared and compelling MBA application that aligns with the scholarship’s objectives.
