About Hanken School of Economics in Finland
The Hanken School of Economics is offering two scholarships to students from developing countries to join the Hanken two-year Master’s Degree program in the academic year 2025-2026 in Finland.
The Hanken School of Economics Premium Scholarship offers two exceptional scholarships annually to degree students and alumni from GBSN member schools in developing countries.
The scholarship covers the full tuition fee for two academic years (€15,000 per year) and provides €8,000 annually for living expenses.

Eligibility Requirements for the 2025 Premium Scholarship by Hanken School of Economics
Main admission requirements

- At least 25–30 ECTS in subjects relevant for the particular programme

The Hanken Master’s Program in a nutshell:
- The MSc in Economics and Business Administration is a two-year leadership and business program
- Master’s programs are taught entirely in English. In addition, you can choose your major of interest. We strongly encourage you to go abroad on an exchange.
Graduate-level students currently studying at or alumni of GBSN member schools in developing countries are invited to apply for the Premium Scholarship at the Hanken School of Economics.

To be considered as a GBSN Scholar for the Premium Scholarship, candidates must be a student or alumni of a GBSN member school by January 8, 2025.
Selection Process for the 2025 Premium Scholarship by Hanken School of Economics
- All applicants who fulfill the general eligibility requirements are forwarded to academic assessment.
The assessment is completed by the coordinator for the Master programme in questions based on the following criteria:
- Academic success and academic skills based on the scope, content and success in previous studies which are relevant for the the intended program.
- The CV is considered in the assessment.
- The academic assessment is completed by the programme using a scale of 1.00–5.00 points (NOTE! not the same as GPA, but the average assessment score for the different listed sections).
- All applicants who fulfill the minimum requirement of 25–30 ECTS in subjects relevant to the intended program (including possible subject-specific requirements) and who have a total evaluation score of at least 3.00 are ranked for admission for the set admission quota based on the total evaluation score.
In the event of tied total points, the sub-scores in the assessment are considered to determine the applicants’ order as follows:
- success
- content, and
- scope in the previous which are relevant for the intended program. If applicants still have the same points, they are ranked according to the rules for tied scores.
- The academic eligibility and the ranking of the eligible applicants is based on the attachment uploaded in the application by the attachment deadline.
- Only the attachements listed in the admissions requirements are taken into consideration in the assessment.

- The Hanken School of Economics will extend up to two premium scholarships to its 2-year Master’s Program to students applying from GBSN Member Schools located in developing countries.
The premium scholarship includes:
- Full tuition fee for two years (equivalent to 15000 EUR/year)
- 8,000 EUR per year for living expenses.
