The TAGDev 2.0 Scholarship, funded by MasterCard and implemented through RUFORUM, provides full financial support to students pursuing undergraduate and postgraduate studies at Gulu University. This scholarship aims to nurture talented students who demonstrate a strong commitment to community transformation and leadership.

The scholarship covers all educational and living expenses, including:

Eligible Fields

Undergraduate Programs:

  • Bachelor of Science in Agriculture
  • Bachelor of Science in Biosystems Engineering
  • Bachelor of Science in Food Bioscience and Agribusiness
  • Bachelor of Business Administration
  • Bachelor of Business Education

Postgraduate Programs:

  • Master of Science in Environmental Science and Natural Resources Management
  • Master of Science in Agri-Enterprises Development
  • Master of Science in Food Security and Community Nutrition
  • Master of Science in Agronomy

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for the scholarship, applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Be a citizen of Uganda or one of the East African countries implementing the East Africa Higher Education Protocol (Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi, and South Sudan).
  • Be from an economically disadvantaged background, including conflict and post-conflict areas.
  • Age requirements:
    • Undergraduate applicants: Must be below 30 years.
    • Postgraduate applicants: Must be below 35 years.
  • Have completed secondary school or diploma studies no more than two years prior to application (four years for refugees and internally displaced persons).
  • Meet Gulu University’s admission criteria for their chosen program.
  • Have a strong interest in agriculture, agribusiness, and entrepreneurship.
  • Demonstrate leadership potential and commitment to community transformation.
  • Female candidates and persons with disabilities (PWDs) are strongly encouraged to apply.

Note:

  • Students already benefiting from another scholarship are not eligible.
  • Former recipients of the TAGDev Scholarship cannot apply.

Documents Required

Applicants must submit:

  • Certified copies of academic documents (O-Level and A-Level certificates, Diploma, or Degree transcripts and certificates).
  • Proof of English proficiency (for applicants from non-English-speaking countries).
  • Equivalency documents from the Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) or National Council for Higher Education (NCHE) for foreign qualifications.

How to Apply

The application process consists of two steps:

Step 1: Apply for Admission to Gulu University

  1. Visit the Gulu University application portal: http://apply.gu.ac.ug
  2. Register with your email or mobile number and follow the prompts.
  3. Log in and submit your admission application for the TAGDev 2.0 Scholarship 2025.
  4. Upload certified academic documents in PDF format (each file should not exceed 1MB).

Step 2: Apply for the TAGDev 2.0 Scholarship via RUFORUM

  1. Visit the RUFORUM Information Management System (RIMS): https://rims2.ruforum.org/
  2. Register and activate your account.
  3. Log in and go to Calls → Scholarship Calls.
  4. Select Call ID: RU/2025GuluUniv./TAGDEV2.0 and click Apply.
  5. Fill in the application form, save drafts, and submit.
  6. Print the completed application form and attach it to your Gulu University admission application.
