About the SA Youth Mobi-Funded Construction Training

Are you a young, unemployed South African looking for a practical way to change your life and build a stable future? If you live in the Garden Route District and dream of a career in construction, this opportunity might be exactly what you’ve been waiting for.

The Western Cape Government’s Department of Infrastructure, in collaboration with SA Youth Mobi, is offering a fully funded Construction Training program for 2025. This initiative is designed to equip unemployed youth with the hands-on skills, professional certifications, and work experience needed to kick-start a lasting career in the growing construction industry.

Whether you’re passionate about working with your hands, interested in how buildings come together, or simply looking for a way out of unemployment, this program offers a life-changing pathway.

The SA Youth Mobi-Funded Construction Training 2025 is a skills development program that provides unemployed youth in the Garden Route District of the Western Cape with fully subsidized training in Bricklaying (L3) and Carpentry (L3).

Backed by the Western Cape Department of Infrastructure, this program doesn’t just offer free training—it also provides a monthly stipend to help participants support themselves throughout the year-long learning journey. Upon successful completion, trainees will walk away with a nationally recognized qualification and be equipped to enter the job market with confidence and real-world skills.

This program is more than a training opportunity—it’s a commitment to your future. Candidates will be exposed to real work environments, gain industry-relevant experience, and learn under the guidance of professionals.

Eligible Fields

Training will be provided in two highly in-demand construction trades:

Bricklaying L3 (Ref. AGR)

This course teaches the fundamentals of bricklaying, including how to construct walls, structural supports, and foundational elements. Trainees will learn how to follow architectural plans, use masonry tools, and apply safety regulations. Ideal for those with an eye for detail and a passion for building.

Carpentry L3 (Ref. CGR)

The Carpentry course focuses on constructing frameworks, roofing structures, doors, and finishing details. Trainees will master the use of woodworking tools and techniques, learning to work with both traditional and modern materials. A great fit for those who enjoy craftsmanship and practical problem-solving.

Both courses are National Certificate (NQF Level 3) qualifications that provide a formal entry point into the construction industry.
