About the DAAD/AGI Research Fellowship Program
The DAAD/AGI Research Fellowship Program is funded by the generous Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst (DAAD) grant. This fellowship program invites both senior and junior researchers to the American-German Institute (AGI) in Washington, DC. The program offers research stays lasting two to four months and provides several benefits, including a monthly stipend of up to €3,204, travel support, and office space at AGI. In addition, the program provides access to the AGI’s extensive library resources as well as opportunities to network with leading experts in the field. Fellows will also get the opportunity to attend AGI’s weekly colloquia and other public events.
Eligibility Criteria
To be able to apply for the fellowship program, applicants need to be:
- German nationals (doctoral candidates, junior academics, and academics)
- Non-German individuals permanently residing in Germany (doctoral candidates, junior academics, and academics)
- German and non-German individuals affiliated with DAAD Centers for German and European Studies outside the United States
Duties of Fellows
Fellows will engage in research related to transatlantic relations, focusing on the following areas:

- humanities.
