Introduction to the Commonwealth Distance-Learning Scholarships

Applications are now welcome for the Commonwealth Distance-Learning Scholarships 2024/2025 for students from developing countries. Candidates from lower-middle-class and least-developed Commonwealth nations are eligible to apply for the Commonwealth Distance Learning Scholarships, which are available for part-time Master’s degree programs offered by UK universities via distance learning.

These scholarships provide full tuition fees, a return airfare to the UK, a living allowance, and accommodation costs. The scholarships are open to candidates from all countries in the Commonwealth, regardless of gender or age.

Commonwealth Distance Learning Scholarships are available to nationals of a few Commonwealth developing nations. These scholarships, which support excellence in UK higher education and uphold the Commonwealth’s principles, are funded by the Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) in support of the UK’s international development goals and broader overseas interests.

The CSC aims to identify talented individuals who have the potential to make change. We are committed to a policy of equal opportunity and non-discrimination and encourage applications from a diverse range of candidates.

Selection Criteria

The selection criteria for the candidate’s evaluation process take into consideration two significant factors. Firstly, the academic merit of the candidate is assessed, which includes evaluating their academic achievements, research work, publications, awards, and recognitions. Secondly, the potential impact of the candidate’s work on the development of their home country is evaluated. This involves analyzing the candidate’s proposed plan of action in their home country and how it can contribute to the betterment of their community. The selection committee considers both of these factors to choose the most deserving candidate for the opportunity.
