Eligibility Criteira

The CRI Postdoctoral Fellowship is open to researchers worldwide who meet the following criteria:

1. Racial & Ethnic Eligibility
   • Applicants must identify as:
     • Black or African American
     • Hispanic or Latino
     • American Indian or Alaska Native
     • Native Hawaiian or Other Pacific Islander
   • Applicants from other socioeconomically disadvantaged populations may also be eligible if they can demonstrate underrepresentation in the field.
2. Citizenship
   • Both U.S. and non-U.S. citizens are eligible to apply.
3. Research & Academic Requirements
   • Applicants must have a Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent doctoral degree in biomedical sciences, immunology, or a related field.
   • Candidates must be within five years of receiving their doctoral degree at the time of application.
   • Applicants must have secured a postdoctoral research position at an eligible institution under the mentorship of an established immunologist.

Selection Criteria

A panel of renowned immunologists and cancer researchers from CRI’s Scientific Advisory Council will evaluate applicants based on the following factors:

1. Quality of the Proposed Research
   • The applicant’s research project should focus on immunology or tumor immunology, specifically exploring:
     • The immune system’s role in cancer
     • The potential of immunotherapy for cancer treatment
2. Academic & Research Excellence
   • Candidates must have a strong track record of research achievements, including publications, presentations, and awards.
3. Mentorship & Training Environment
   • The quality of mentorship and research facilities at the host institution will be considered.
   • The applicant’s sponsor (mentor) should have a strong background in immunology and demonstrate the ability to support the fellow’s research and career development.

   • NIH Biosketch format is preferred.
3. Research Proposal

4. Recommendation Letters (Two Required)
   • One letter from the applicant’s Ph.D. thesis advisor.
