About the Ashinaga Africa Initiative Scholarship 2025
Applications are now open for the Ashinaga Africa Initiative (AIA) Scholarship 2025, a fully funded opportunity designed to support promising young leaders from sub-Saharan Africa. This scholarship aims to empower students who have lost one or both parents by providing them with access to higher education and leadership training, ultimately preparing them to contribute to the development of their home countries and the African continent.
The Ashinaga Africa Initiative develops future leaders from sub-Saharan Africa who have demonstrated academic excellence, resilience, and a commitment to returning to their home countries to make a positive impact. AIA scholars are expected to become change-makers and leaders who will drive innovation and development in their respective communities.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the Ashinaga Africa Initiative Scholarship 2025, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Applicants must have lost one or both parents.
- Age:
- For bachelor’s degree applicants, you must be under 23 years old.
- For master’s degree applicants, you must be under 25 years old.
- Education:
- Applicants must have completed their secondary education and received their baccalaureate (technical, technological, and professional baccalaureates are not accepted).
- Applicants must have consistently ranked among the top in their class during high school and college, if applicable.
- Students who scored below 14/20 on their baccalaureate exam have a limited chance of acceptance.
- Financial Need: Applicants must not have the financial means to pursue a bachelor’s or master’s degree at a university.
- Language Requirement: Applicants must be fluent in French.
- Commitment: Applicants must be committed to returning to their home country or the sub-Saharan African region after graduation to actively contribute to society.
- Preparatory Programs: Applicants must be willing to participate in Ashinaga’s two one-year preparatory programs, which are prerequisites for university admission (unless they have already received admission from a French university that provides a tuition fee exemption).
- No Dependents: Applicants must not have dependents who would interfere with their ability to study.
- Health: Applicants must be in good health and capable of studying internationally.
Required Documents
Applicants must provide the following documents as part of their application:
1. A photo or scanned copy of one of the following: national identity card, passport, or birth certificate/extract.
2. A photo or scanned copy of the last school report/transcript from their final year in high school (last quarter or semester, or the annual report).
3. A photo or scanned copy of the baccalaureate certificate or proof of secondary education completion, if applicable.
4. University grades to date, if applicable.

Benefits of the Scholarship
The Ashinaga Africa Initiative provides full financial support to cover the following expenses:
- Tuition fees for university studies in France.
- Accommodation costs.
- Travel expenses.
- Other necessary costs related to living and studying in France.
The scholarship covers both bachelor’s and master’s degree programs.
How to Apply
The application process consists of two stages:
1. Registration: All applicants must first register and confirm their eligibility for the program. Only those who are deemed eligible will receive a link to the full application form via email.
2. Application: Once registered and eligible, applicants will receive an email with a link to the complete application form.
