ACI Foundation scholarship and fellowship 2022/2023
Application For the ACI FOUNDATION Scholarship and Fellowship Programmes for the 2022/2023 session has started and the ACI Foundation awards more than $200,000 annually to students to both further their studies,
The Foundation is serving the industry by establishing and distributing fellowships and scholarships to high potential students in concrete-related graduate and undergraduate degree programs.
Applicants and invited and encouraged to take this rare opportunity of becoming ACI Foundation Scholars by applying to the foundation’s scholarship programme.

The deadline which applicants must have to submit an application is the 1st of November, 2022.
Based on essays, submitted data, and endorsements, the Scholarship Council of the ACI Foundation will select student recipients who appear to have the strongest combination of interest and potential for professional success in the concrete industry.
What to know before you start your application.
Each student is limited for the duration of their studies to receiving no more than one fellowship and one scholarship from the ACI Foundation.
A single online application form will be used for all the fellowship and scholarship awards. After answering some qualifying questions, the form will automatically display the fellowships and scholarships for which you may be eligible.
Please select as many for which you wish to be considered but be sure you read each award requirements. Before beginning the application, have the answers ready for these questions:
Have you ever received a fellowship or scholarship award from the ACI Foundation?
When submitting the application, what is your current academic status (Undergraduate/Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD)?
When the award cycle begins in Fall 2023, what will your academic status be (Undergraduate/Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD)?
(Fellowship applicants only) If chosen as a finalist, can you attend an interview in person at the spring ACI Concrete Convention on March 27, 2023? Travel, registration, and hotel arrangements will be made through and paid for by the ACI Foundation.
All travel will be contingent upon country and state restrictions at that time. If in-person interviews can not occur, the process will be virtual.
(Fellowships with Mandatory Internships) Can you fulfill a 10- to 12-week internship during the summer of 2023
To be eligible for an award, you must be a full-time student for the entire award/school term (fall semester 2023 through spring semester 2024).
All applicants must submit the following five items.

3. A 500-word essay.
4. Official transcripts – English language & with a 4.0 grading scale
5. Two endorsements

Remember to save your data during each session of the online application before closing the platform.
All application materials, including endorsements and transcripts, must be received by the application deadline. All materials are to be submitted online. No hard copies will be accepted, except for official transcripts which may be mailed.
Awardees will be determined during the ACI Concrete Convention in the spring and notified shortly after the convention.
Important Information for Fellowship Applications
ACI Foundation fellowships can be awarded to international students; however, you must attend a U.S. or Canadian institution during the award cycle.
Some of the fellowships expect the awardee to complete a 10- to 12-week internship during the summer of 2023.
Those applicants chosen as a finalist for an ACI Foundation fellowship will be notified by February 4, 2023 and must be available to attend an interview with the Scholarship Council on Sunday, March 27, 2023, at the spring ACI Concrete Convention. ACI Foundation will pay for the flight, hotel, registration, and will include a travel stipend.
All applicants must be proficient in the English language. If English is not your native language, you can upload a copy of your TOEFL score to your application. This is optional and not required.
The educational stipend is paid in two equal installments over the course of one year directly to the student to cover expenses related to tuition, room and board, books, student fees, etc. Receipt of stipends is contingent upon attendance at scheduled ACI Concrete Conventions during the award cycle.
Fellowship awardees are expected to submit a written report near the end of their fellowship period describing the value of the fellowship to their personal development and to their preparation for their chosen career after graduation.
Important Information for the Middle East & North Africa Fellowship Applications
ACI Foundation fellowships can be awarded to international students; however, you must attend an institution of higher education in the Gulf Cooperation Council region (Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates), Algeria, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, or Tunisia.
Those applicants chosen as a finalist for an ACI Foundation fellowship must be available to attend an interview with the Scholarship Council on Sunday, March 27, 2023, at the spring ACI Concrete Convention. ACI Foundation will pay for the flight, hotel, registration, and will include a travel stipend. You must apply and receive a Visa from your country to attend the ACI Concrete Convention.
All applicants must be proficient in the English language. If English is not your native language, a written statement must be attached to the application attesting this proficiency or a copy of the TOEFL results.
The educational stipend is paid in two equal installments over the course of one year directly to the student to cover expenses related to tuition, room and board, books, student fees, etc. Receipt of stipends is contingent upon attendance at scheduled ACI Concrete Conventions during the award cycle.

Important Information for Scholarship Applications
ACI Foundation scholarships can be awarded to international students unless an award sponsor has a specific requirement for area or region of study.
The award cycle for this application period is the 2023 fall semester through the 2024 spring semester.
To be eligible for a graduate scholarship, you must be a full-time student in a master’s or PhD program during the entire award cycle. Applicants must not have exceeded their second year of a master’s program or fourth year of a PhD program.
To be eligible for an undergraduate scholarship, the applicant must be a full-time undergraduate at the time of applying for and during the entire award cycle.
The scholarship stipend is paid in two equal installments over one year to the financial aid/registrar office of the institution where the study program will be pursued. These funds will then be deposited into the recipient’s educational institution account.

All ACI Foundation fellowships and scholarships can be withdrawn for failure to comply with any of the items above.
