About Tongarewa International Scholarship
The Tongarewa Scholarship 2025 at Victoria University of Wellington is now open to outstanding international students who wish to pursue their undergraduate or postgraduate studies in New Zealand. As part of its commitment to global education, Victoria University offers these partially funded scholarships to recognize and support academically talented students beginning their first year of study.
These scholarships are competitive, awarded based on academic merit, and help reduce tuition fees for the first year. Students who receive the award will also receive a guaranteed offer of accommodation if they apply on time.

Eligibility Requirements
To be eligible for the Tongarewa International Scholarship 2025, applicants must:
- Be international students with full-fee-paying status.
- Be enrolling for the first time in an undergraduate or postgraduate degree at Victoria University of Wellington.
- Hold a conditional or unconditional offer of admission from the university.
Ineligible Applicants
You are not eligible if you:
- complete high school in New Zealand.
- Enrolled in the English Proficiency Programme or Foundation Studies Programme at the university.
- Are a Study Abroad or Twinning program student from a partner institution.
- Are currently in your second year of the same degree program at the university.
Tongarewa International Scholarship Required Documents
Applicants must submit the following documents during the application process:
- A 500-word personal statement outlining academic goals, motivation for study, leadership experience, and community involvement.
- Academic transcripts and other proof of educational qualifications.
- A conditional or unconditional offer from Victoria University of Wellington.
