This scholarship is designed to empower and assist talented women in the finance industry, especially those who are pursuing careers in financial asset management, market risk management, and derivatives finance within the capital markets.
Originally established in 2014 as the FINCAD Women in Finance Scholarship, this initiative has continued after the acquisition of FINCAD by Numerix in 2023. Numerix, the parent company based in Vancouver, Canada, is dedicated to helping its clients succeed by simplifying derivatives finance. They provide essential analytics to assist in managing and supporting exposures, determining fair values, and appropriately sizing trades. This scholarship serves as a testament to their commitment to fostering diversity and excellence in the finance sector.
The FINCAD Women in Finance Scholarships aim to provide financial support and mentorship to promising female professionals who are seeking to make an impact in the finance industry. With a focus on promoting gender diversity and inclusion, the program seeks to address the underrepresentation of women in key finance-related roles. By offering this scholarship, FINCAD and Numerix hope to encourage more women to pursue careers in financial asset management, market risk management, and derivatives finance within the capital markets, ultimately contributing to a more balanced and diverse financial industry.
The program is open to applications from female candidates worldwide who have a strong academic background, a passion for finance, and a clear vision for their future in the industry. Successful applicants will receive financial assistance to support their education and career development, as well as access to valuable mentorship and networking opportunities within the finance sector. This holistic approach aims to empower women in finance and provide them with the resources and support they need to excel in their careers.
As part of their commitment to advancing diversity and excellence in finance, the FINCAD Women in Finance Scholarships also seek to raise awareness about the importance of gender balance in the industry. Through outreach and engagement efforts, the program aims to inspire and motivate more women to pursue opportunities in finance and contribute their unique perspectives and skills to the field. By highlighting past scholarship recipients’ achievements and showcasing their work’s impact, the program strives to create a ripple effect that encourages more women to pursue careers in finance and challenge traditional gender norms in the industry.
The legacy of the FINCAD Women in Finance Scholarships, which originated in 2014 and continues under Numerix’s stewardship, exemplifies a long-standing commitment to supporting women in finance. By leveraging the resources and expertise of Numerix, the program aims to expand its reach and impact, reaching even more talented women and providing them with the support and opportunities they need to thrive in the finance industry.
