Fellows are expected to commit to the full two-year program, during which they will be placed in specific USAID offices in Washington, DC. Upon successful completion, fellows may have the opportunity to extend their fellowship for an additional year as an Advisory Fellow.

- The USAID Science for Development Fellowships program is primarily targeted at early- to mid-career scientists and engineers who are passionate about applying their skills to global development.
- Applicants must hold a qualifying doctorate degree in a STEM discipline, including social sciences, by December 31, 2024. U.S.
- Citizenship is mandatory, and applicants should be prepared to obtain the necessary security clearances.
