UM Bright Talents Scholarship Eligibility Requirements
To be eligible for the UM Bright Talents Scholarship 2025, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Must hold nationality outside the EU/EEA and Switzerland.
- Must meet the visa and residence permit requirements for the Netherlands.
- Cannot hold dual nationality from an EU/EEA country or Switzerland.
- Must not have completed a degree-seeking program in the Netherlands (exchange students are eligible).
- Must be younger than 35 years on September 1, 2025.
- Must commit to being an active ambassador for Brightlands and UM during and after the scholarship period.
- Must apply for a participating master’s program at UM for the 2025-2026 academic year.
- Must meet the specific admission requirements of the master’s program at UM.

Application Process
Step 1: Register for a Master’s Program Register for one of the participating master’s programs at Maastricht University through Studielink. After registering, you will receive a student ID number, which is necessary to complete the scholarship application.
Step 2: Complete the Scholarship Application Log in using your UM account and fill in the scholarship application form. Ensure you upload all the required documents in the appropriate format (.doc, .docx, or PDF).
