Applications are currently being accepted for the 2024 International Finance Corporation (IFC) Global Internship Program (GIP).

The GIP offers driven individuals a chance to familiarize themselves with the mission and operations of the IFC and the broader World Bank Group, becoming part of the largest private sector development institution globally.

The program seeks to inspire individuals to bring fresh perspectives and innovative ideas to IFC’s initiatives, all while enhancing skills in a diverse and stimulating environment. Furthermore, the Global Internship Program presents a unique opportunity to engage in idea exchange and networking with international professionals committed to eradicating extreme poverty and fostering prosperity in the developing world.

Applications Requirements for the 2024 International Finance Corporation (IFC) Global Internship Program (GIP).

Applicants must currently be pursuing a Master’s degree and possess a minimum of three years of pertinent professional experience.

Duties and Accountabilities:

1. Perform market and industry analysis.

2. Evaluate financial statements and develop financial models.

3. Conduct company research utilizing the IDD process.

4. Contribute as necessary to other team endeavors. 

Selection Criteria

Applicants should presently be engaged in a Master’s degree program, with a preference for those pursuing studies in MBA or finance. A background of 2-3 years of prior work experience is required. Proficiency in both English and French, particularly in the comprehension of business reports, is essential. The program’s structure includes the following components:

IFC hires Global Interns for a minimum period of four weeks between May and September to work on discrete projects in Washington, D.C. or in one of IFC’s country or regional offices. Many of the posted opportunities are also open for virtual participation. 

IFC recruits Global Interns for a minimum duration of four weeks between May and September to undertake specific projects in Washington, D.C., or at one of IFC’s country or regional offices. Many of the advertised opportunities also allow for remote participation.

These projects encompass a variety of tasks, including involvement in sector-specific market analysis, reviewing investment proposals, conducting financial modeling and analysis, managing portfolios, engaging in upstream work, and providing advisory services. Additionally, assignments may involve various activities within corporate and support departments.

Global Interns receive access to corporate orientation, skills training, and regular learning events for the GIP cohort.

Upon completion of the internship, successful GIP interns are encouraged to apply for the WBG Young Professionals Program or any other full-time opportunities available post-graduation, provided they meet the respective application criteria.
