About ECOWAS Immersion Internship Program 2026

The Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) is delighted to announce the launch of the 2026 ECOWAS Immersion Internship Program.

This initiative is designed to help young graduates gain practical professional experience within ECOWAS institutions while contributing to the effective implementation of its programs.

The internship provides an excellent platform for graduates to understand ECOWAS programs and operations more deeply, while also allowing them to contribute their skills and ideas toward advancing the institution’s objectives.

The ECOWAS Immersion Internship Program 2026 aims to:

ECOWAS Immersion Internship Program 2026 Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for the ECOWAS Immersion Internship Program 2026, applicants must:

  • Be a citizen of an ECOWAS Member State.
  • Be 32 years of age or younger.
  • Hold at least a Bachelor’s degree (BSc, MSc, PhD, or equivalent).
  • Be available to participate full-time for the duration of the internship.

ECOWAS Immersion Internship Program 2026 Benefits

Selected interns will enjoy the following:

  • A 12-month immersive internship experience (non-renewable).
  • Placement across ECOWAS departments, agencies, resident representations, and institutions.
  • Practical exposure to regional policy implementation, governance, and development programs.

ECOWAS Immersion Internship Program 2026 Required Documents

Applicants must prepare and submit the following:

A formal application letter addressed to the ECOWAS Commissioner for Human Development and Social Affairs, outlining:

  • Motivation for applying.
  • Areas of interest.
  • Preferred profile and internship location.
  • Commitment to abide by program rules.
  • Curriculum Vitae (CV) in PDF format.
  • A valid national identity card or passport (PDF or JPEG).
  • Copies of academic certificates (PDF).

Note: Candidates may apply for a maximum of two positions.
