Eligibility Criteria

To apply for the Chevening Clore Leadership Fellowship, applicants must meet the following eligibility criteria:

  1. Intent to Return: Must intend to return to their home country after the fellowship period.
  2. Academic Qualifications: Hold a degree equivalent to a UK second-class honors degree or have equivalent professional training/experience.
  3. Work Experience: Have completed at least five years of work experience by the end of 2023.
  4. English Proficiency: Demonstrate a good working knowledge of English (assessed during the application and interview process).
  5. Citizenship: Do not hold British or dual British citizenship.
  6. Employment Restrictions: Must not be a current or recent (within the last two years) employee of His Majesty’s Government, the British Council, UK universities, or the Association of Commonwealth Universities. Immediate relatives of employees of these organizations are also ineligible.
  7. Previous HMG-funded Scholarship Recipients: Applicants who previously received financial support from a UK government-funded program are eligible if five years have passed since the completion of their prior award and they can demonstrate career progression.

  4. May 2026: The fellowship concludes with the second fellowship residential course, marking the end of the program.
