About the NVIDIA International Graduate Fellowship Program
The 2026 NVIDIA International Graduate Fellowship Program is now open for applications. This highly regarded program, now in its twenty-fifth year, is designed to recognize and support exceptional PhD students pursuing research that pushes the boundaries of computing and technology. Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must meet the following criteria to be considered:
- PhD Enrollment: Students must have completed at least one full year of PhD-level study by the time of application.
- Field of Study: Candidates should be majoring in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, System Architecture, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related field.
- Active Research: Applicants must be engaged in significant research related to their PhD thesis.
- Full-Time Status: Students must remain enrolled as full-time PhD candidates during the 2026–2027 academic year (a 9-month period). Candidates expecting to graduate before May/June 2027 are not eligible.
- Summer Internship Availability: Students must commit to completing an in-person summer internship at an NVIDIA research site. Internship locations include the United States, Canada, Germany, Sweden, Finland, Switzerland, Israel, and Taiwan.
- No Immediate Family Ties to NVIDIA Employees: To ensure impartiality, candidates must not be immediate family members of current NVIDIA employees.
- University-Administered Award: Fellowship payments are made directly to the student’s university and not to the student personally.
Documents Required
A complete application must include the following documents and confirmations:
- Research Summary/Thesis Proposal: Up to 2 pages (excluding bibliography). Clearly describe your research problem, methodology, contributions, and potential impact.
- Resume or Curriculum Vitae (CV): Include academic background, research experience, technical skills, awards, and up-to-date contact information.
- Professor Nomination Letters: A minimum of 2 letters of recommendation (at least one from your thesis advisor). A maximum of 3 letters may be submitted. Letters may also come from non-professors if highly relevant.
- Confirmation of Internship Availability: A formal statement indicating your ability to complete an in-person summer internship at NVIDIA.

- Monitor Letter Status: Check the portal to verify that each recommendation letter is received.
- Respect Deadlines: Recommendation letters must be uploaded by 12:00 noon Pacific Time on September 15, 2025. The final student submission must be completed by 3:00 pm Pacific Time on September 15, 2025.
- Submit Final Application: Only click “Submit” once all components—including recommendation letters—are marked as complete. It is the student’s responsibility to ensure the application is accurate and complete before the deadline.
